*This week's been pretty hectic since I had to handle tuition payments and college enrollment, so I haven't really gotten into the business of inking and coloring my works -__-;
The degree of complication I placed in this piece of work is very considerable and second only to the details I put in the Emperor. The time I spent in this one is also similar to the time I spent conceptualizing and actually drawing the Emperor.
So here we go:
Templar Knights are the elite units of the Templar Order. Masters of the Greatswords, Knights generally lead assaults on enemy lines and are at the thickest of the fighting. Being elite combat units, groups of knights are dispersed in army formations to provide checks and balances whenever possible along the line.
Templar Knights also serve as commanding officers on the field, second only to the Order's Masters. From time to time, they do, however, follow the commands of senior warriors of both the Immortal and Guardian disciplines.
Knights have heightened senses superior to those of their other Templar brethren, and are thus able to respond more quickly to oncoming threats. The ability to counter enemy attacks have given the Knights a reputation to be nearly invincible in battle.
Being Templars, Knights despise the use of the Dark Arts in combat, and as much as possible, avoid working with warriors of the Cyclopean Order.
Before the exile, the weapons and armor of the Templars were adorned with the Imperial Cross. After being sworn into the service of Xeranad by their leader, the Emperor, the Knights, along with the other Templars have adopted the Emperor's symbol, a stylized skull usually upon a small oval shield, to demonstrate their loyalty to the Emperor, and their faith in his judgment.
Knights are generally armed with a massive sword, but can also wield light shields and other bladed weapons. Upon induction to the Knights, the warrior is bestowed an honor-blade which is a shorter sword used only in rituals and other special ceremonies.
